We will also explain how these efforts make Langley, in particular, and South Whidbey as a whole, an attractive choice of residence for families in which a major income earner's ability to work isn't tied to living in a major metropolitan or suburban center. Finally,we will touch upon the meaning of the "Groundswell," an umbrella term used to describe the forces behind Social Media and Social Networking, and the implications, both good and bad, for promoting and marketing our community and our businesses. Sherry Mays, Chamber director, will follow with a moderated panel consisting of some of our business owners who have been making a difference

South Whidbey Co-Op Pre School Fund Raiser

The preschool will be holding a benefit fundraiser on January 30th at Whidbey Children's Theatre. This will include a children's show at 2:00pm, and an adult show at 7:30pm. The Co-op has been in operation for 41 years and has served more than 1000 families. This year the Co-op, like many other non-profit organizations, has handed out more scholarships than ever before. Their budget has been stretched to it's limit. In order for the Co-op to stay open for the rest of the year, and continue serving the families that are enrolled, they need to raise $7,000.
